ABOUT THE COURSE

The Pro Tools 101 course will teach students all the basic principles of one of the industries’ leading digital audio workstations. During this course students will obtain all the knowledge required to start and complete an entire project from setup to final mix down with Pro Tools. This course focuses on the latest, Pro Tools 9 software, which includes many new features and enhancements all covered during this course. Whether you would like to create projects which include live recorded instruments or MIDI sequencing with software synthesizers, this course will provide you with the necessary tools to utilize Pro Tools as your production & engineering platform.

AUDIENCE

This course is designed for the audio enthusiast with little to no Pro Tools experience.

PREREQUESITES

Possession of the following skills is recommended prior to beginning this course:

• Basic familiarity with operating a computer.
• Basic understanding of recording techniques, processes, and equipment.

OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Create your first session
• Make your first audio recording
• Import media into your session
• Make your first MIDI recording
• Select and navigate
• Apply basic and mixed editing techniques
• Finish your work
• Create a music hands-on project
• Create a post hands-on project

CLASSES

Classes are presented on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 till 12:00 and consist of 6 x 3 hour sessions.

Classes are presented hands-on in professional recording and production studios as well as a personal DAW workstation for each student.

Additional studio and workstation time may be booked during the rest of the week.

STARTING DATE

This 3 weeks course runs four times a year: February / April / June / August / October.

Registration ends one week before the course starting date.

The next course will be presented on the 2nd of April 2012.

CERTIFICATION & ACCREDITATION

This internationally recognized course is accredited by AVID Technologies, one of the word's leading multi media production and manufacturing companies.

To successful complete this course the student has to pass an online examination with a pass rate of 80% as a required standard of EMENDY College and AVID Technologies.

After the successful completion of the course and passing the online exam - the candidate will receive an internationally accredited certificate isued by AVID Technologies.
