The Advanced Music Production & Sound Engineering course is the final step in music technology education, providing students with all the skills, knowledge and experience required to make an informed and knowledgeable entry in the audio production field, which is one of the worlds’ largest growing markets today.

ABOUT THE COURSE
This one year NQF level 6 diploma course continues where EMENDY’s first year DMP course, ended. The course further divides the four subjects of the first year into eight distinctive subjects covering all the aspects and processes involved in music production and sound engineering in an analog and digital environment.
| The one year DMP course, which lays down the foundation for advanced music production, is now followed by the second year, advanced course which contains theoretical and practical principles of digital and analog studio sound engineering covering aspects such as microphone instrument recording techniques, cabling, computer and music hardware and technology and production software. | ![]() |
Subjects such as Ear training and music appreciation as well as Music theory, focuses on psychoacoustics, tone, musical memory, as well as, song construction and arranging techniques. Hands-on keyboard technique and music theory taught in terms of contemporary genres such as jazz, blues, rock and other popular musical styles of today, ensures that students are molded into the composers of tomorrow.
The use of some of the industry’s well-known music and video production software are explained in full as a multi-media production tool. The course also provides great hands-on advanced music production technique, skills, tips and tricks such as string, bass, drum, programming, etc. The use of special audio effects, recording, programming and mixing in 5.1. surround environment and much more is also included.

Also covered in the course is how to create and manipulate sounds, instruments and special effects by means of Sound Synthesis and design. A breakdown of the music industry including musical laws, copyrighting, different recording deals and more is explained in depth. Students will learn the whole principle and process of starting their own independent entrepreneurial music business with all its management functions including marketing, production, human recourses and financial aspects. |
During the course students produce over ten practical projects covering the different aspects of music production and business skills. These include: band recording, voice overs, sampling, backing tracks, string arrangements, 5.1 Surround, post production, remixing, jingles, business plan, etc.
Students also have the opportunity to do their 100 hours internship at well-known recording studios as part of their training program.
This course is a must for the individual who wants to begin a career in the music industry as it provides the tools to become a well-rounded digital and analog music producer and engineer.
THE GOAL OF THIS COURSE
Other than studio and live Sound Engineering this course focuses on the aspects of music production and technique, sound creation and design. The course is developed to combine all aspects and recourses of music production available so as to give the student the capability to produce, engineer, edit and manipulate music in any given music genre for a host of audio and multimedia applications.

This course not only aims to give an aspiring artist/producer the ability to produce their own music from their ‘home’ music production studio, but also the capability to work in studio or live environment, and being able to provide clients with a professional audio product. |
COURSE OPPORTUNITIES & OUTCOMES
This course will provide you with Advanced skills to produce professional music for different aspects of the Music Industry: Backing tracks, Theatre, Musicals, TV & Radio Advertisement, Corporate presentations etc.; you will also be able to edit (cut, copy, paste & manipulate) existing music and sounds for Dance artists, Gym instructors, etc.; Neatly printed scores for voice & instrument artists, (copyright); do advance recordings; create professional backing tracks for yourself or others and of course, releasing your own musical CD.
You will learn how the music industry operates, how to manage your own music studio / business financially and co- operatively. You will learn to understand the theory behind the music and how to apply it practically. You will have the opportunity to market your music online. You will meet face to face with the big names of Music Producers and visit some of the finest production studio’s and much more.

AMP STUDENT SELECTION & REQUIREMENTS
Anly students who successfully passed the “Digital Music Production Course” automatically qualify to proceed with the AMP course the next year.

Successfully complete the “Digital Music Production Course” including all its requirements. Passing the Pro-Tools 101 and 110 online exam. |
CERTIFICATION, ACCREDITATION & SUPPORT
The AMP course is a national NQF level 6 dilopma course accredited by MAPP – SETA and SAQA. Reg nr: MAPP1474. Upon successfully completion of this course, students will also receive an international certificate accredited by “Steinberg”, one of the leading institutes in music technology education and software as well as an internationally accredited level-200 Pro-Tools certificate accredited by AVID Technologies.
